NEWS2022 Oscar Nominations Are Here: See Who May Be Bringing Home A Golden Statue In March
The nominees for Hollywood's most prestigious award show have been announced.
On Tuesday, February 8, Leslie Jordan and Tracee Ellis Ross — who will be hosting the show set to air on March 27th — were on hand to announce the nominees for the 94th Annual Academy Awards live from Los Angeles.
From Will Smith to Jessica Chastain being recognized for their leading roles to other longtime superstars like Kristen Stewart and Kirsten Dunst being honored with nominations after years in Tinseltown, this year's ceremony is gearing up to be a can't miss spectacle.
Despite being Hollywood's highest honor, the award show has battled criticism and backlash in the past year after rearranging the order of the awards and not giving a posthumous Oscar to Chadwhick Boseman for Black Bottom.
“There was a lot of really great risks that some might view didn’t pay off,” ABC executive Rob Mills explained to Variety of past controversy with the show, "But it was just great to do something different and not know what was going to happen next — and not have those glazed eyes of, ‘Oh gosh, I’ve seen this before I know exactly what’s going to happen.’”
