Tough Time? Kelly Clarkson Performs 'Hard Place' As Estranged Ex Claims He Doesn't Owe Her Any Money In Contentious Divorce Battle
Powerhouse Kelly Clarkson is known for using music to convey how she is feeling — her latest performance of H.E.R’s soulful ballad “Hard Place” is sending a message to her ex, Brandon Blackstock, as their nasty divorce battle rages on.
“Wanna believe what you say. But I hate you on most days,” she sings. “You've been testing my faith and my patience, yeah. And you know that I be headstrong. But you know that you be dead wrong,” she belted out, as reports surfaced that her estranged husband denied all claims by Clarkson that he owed her money.

As OK! was the first to report, Clarkson filed a claim to the California Labor Commissioner's Office in October 2020 that her agreement with Starstruck Management was a "fraudulent and subterfuge device" for her managers to perform "illegal services" as agents, despite being unlicensed in the state of California, and therefore she should get back all the money she earned while under such devices.
Blackstock fired back at his ex, as he filed legal documents a month later denying all of the American Idol alum's claims of defrauding her by charging her outlandish fees during the duration of her contract with his management company. The talent agent claimed that Clarkson is not entitled to any money that he or his father, Narvel, or their management company earned while working with her over the past 13 years.

The messy legal battle between the “Because of You” singer and the Blackstock family began three months after she filed for divorce from her husband of seven years in June 2020. The pair share two children together: River Rose, 6, and Remington Alexander, 4. Blackstock has two children from his previous marriage: Savannah, 18, and Seth, 13.
While her lengthy divorce battle is playing out, Clarkson’s talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show is soaring in the ratings. OK! learned that execs are so happy with the daytime talker’s ratings they are eyeing her to take controversial host Ellen DeGeneres’ coveted time slot as her viewership continues to tumble after former staffers claimed the set was a “toxic” work environment.

The Kelly Clarkson Show, which airs after DeGeneres’ show in most syndication markets, could take the long-held 3 p.m. slot DeGeneres has enjoyed for years if the show comes to an end. OK! reported that Clarkson’s hit daytime show was renewed for two more seasons, assuring viewers it will run through at least 2023.
