Country singer Eric Church and R&B artist Jazmine Sullivan kicked off Super Bowl LV with a powerful national anthem — and the two made history in doing so. 

On Sunday, February 7, before the Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Church, 43, and Sullivan, 33, were the first to duet on "The Star Spangled Banner" in over a decade.

The last time a duet rang in football’s most anticipated evening was in 2006, when Aretha Franklin and Aaron Neville joined forces for the anthem. 

Grammy-winning singer H.E.R. sang "America the Beautiful," while The Weeknd is set to perform during the halftime show.

As OK! previously reported, The Weeknd is getting creative with his Super Bowl LV halftime show in order to make fans happy but still adhere to COVID-19 regulations at the same time.

The halftime show will reportedly be “only in the stands and nothing on the field,” a source dished, adding that “it’s really phenomenal, different and historic.”

“It’s a total of 1,000 people, and they can’t touch the field,” a behind-the-scenes source had said. “Wait till you see it, it’s beautifully done. It’s different and it’s historic.”

The game, which will be hosted at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Fla., is expected to attract millions of viewers across the world. Tampa Bay’s Tom Brady faces off against Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes in sport’s biggest night.
