At first, authorities had little to go on, but similarities then came to light: a charming, handsome stranger with a broken arm and a Volkswagen Bug. Still, the crazed murderer stayed one step ahead, leading to a devastating sorority house massacre on the other side of the country.
The federal agency remained clueless to the killer's identity until they got a phone call from a woman who confessed, "I'm concerned about my boyfriend. His name is Ted Bundy."

Elizabeth Kloepfer was Bundy's girlfriend for six years, all while he lived a double life and murdered 30 individuals. It was Kloepfer's call that helped authorities capture the elusive killer.
Bundy was specific in choosing his targets: he killed young women who held the slightest resemblance to Stephanie Brooks, a woman who apparently broke his heart.
Considered by the FBI as society's most infamous and notorious serial killer, Bundy had two court trials, which resulted in him being sentenced to death and then executed on January 24, 1989.
