Janice Dickinson Slams Kanye West, Gigi Hadid & Kylie Jenner, Says She Isn’t Getting Gigs Like Tyra Banks Because 'They Like Diversity On TV These Days'
Dishing it out! Janice Dickinson wasn’t afraid to name names in a recent interview, as she trashed fellow stars in the modeling industry.
The world-renowned supermodel appeared on the latest episode of the “Behind The Velvet Rope with David Yontef” podcast on Thursday, August 5, and she didn’t hold much back.
The TV personality, 66, called out rapper and clothing designer Kanye West, who is known in the fashion industry for his famous “Yeezy” brand. Dickinson claimed in the episode that West bought his way into the fashion world.
“Yeezy hired Anna Wintour. Gave her a million bucks to initially get him on his feet as far as colors and style wise," she said. "It sure did.”
West wasn’t the only one Dickinson had a lot to say about — she even came for his former sister-in-law, Kylie Jenner, along with model Gigi Hadid.
“I mean you have to have personality to be on television,” she said, as she mentioned other notable models who have been successful with on-screen jobs, like Heidi Klum, Sharon Stone, Rene Russo and Andy MacDowell. “Is Kylie Jenner a good speaker in front of the camera? I don’t know. Is Gigi Hadid a good speaker in front of the camera? I don’t think so.”
Of course Dickinson couldn’t spill the tea on fellow models without mentioning the one and only Tyra Banks, who she worked closely with for years on Banks’ hit show America’s Next Top Model.

She compared her treatment on Banks’ show to her experience on RuPaul’s Drag Race, claiming the ANTM host didn’t properly reward her hard work.
“I did a stint on RuPaul. That was fabulous. They treated us with respect, not giving us hamburgers or McDonald’s Whoppers for Christmas presents like Tyra would dole out to the crew,” she said. “How hard I was working, I should have had a gold Rolex or something.”
That wasn’t all she had to say about the Dancing With The Stars host. Dickinson took it below the belt when she made a jaw-dropping comment about the amount of gigs Banks has been getting.
"You know, I think, I would be getting them too if it weren't for the color of my skin, you know, they like diversity on television these days," she said. "And you know, now that we have a fantastic African-American Asian vice-president, there's going to be a lot more diversity coming in and look out for the change."
She also revealed that she and Banks didn’t have the best of relationships during her tenure on the modeling competition show: "Sitting next to Tyra for hours and hours can be daunting because she didn’t really like me and we didn’t really get along."
“And she never did Vogue. I did Vogue," Dickinson continued. "She did Elle and I used to constantly remind her of that.”
Dickinson even went further to expose a major ANTM secret: That the judges actually didn’t control who was picked as the winner of the show.
“The chance to have a Covergirl contract campaign for a year was chosen by Covergirl and not the model, not the judges,” she added. “So when I found that out, I was like, kind of reticent to even speak up anymore because they weren’t taking my valuable words of wisdom and applying it to who should win or who should lose.”
