Rudy Guede — the only convicted killer in the murder of Meredith Kercher — was seen talking to reporters for the first time since his release from prison.

On Tuesday, November 23, the 34-year-old was granted early release after serving 13 years in prison following the brutal murder of the 21-year-old.

Following Guede’s release last week, he claimed to still be innocent regarding Kercher’s murder during a conversation with a reporter from The Sun, insisting that the legal documents "say others were there and I did not inflict the fatal wounds.”

He cryptically alleged that Knox “knows the truth and I know the truth,” which seemed to rub Knox’s husband the wrong way.

Christopher Robinson — who has been married to the famous exoneree since November 2018 — set the record straight following Guede’s claims in a loaded tweet on Sunday, November 28, insisting that Guede “without a doubt killed Meredith Kercher.”

Robinson claimed in his tweet that Guede’s comments were “cruel,” to Knox, considering his wife spent four years in prison for a crime she did not commit. He also suggested that the statement was cruel to the Kercher family too, who tragically lost their daughter at the hands of Guede.

It all started in 2007 when Kercher was found dead in her room in Perugia Italy, where she was staying with fellow college student Amanda Knox.

Knox — who was 20 years old at the time — was tried for the gruesome murder, along with her then-boyfriend Rafaele Sollecito. The pair were both convicted in 2009 and sentenced to 26 and 25 years respectively.

Guede was also found guilty of the heinous crime after authorities suspected the killing was a group crime. After being convicted of both murdering and sexually assualting the victim, Guede was originally given 30 years in prison, but his sentence was later reduced to 16 years in 2009 after filing an appeal.

In 2013, the convictions of Knox and Sollecito were overturned and Knox was able to return to her family in the United States. The pair were eventually re-tried and re-convicted before being officially exonerated in 2015.

Knox has since been outspoken about her wrongful conviction, recently claiming that her name never “should have been associated with [Guede’s] actions.”

“The fact that no one seems to really care about him, given that they were his actions, really bugs me out,” she said during an appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast earlier this month.
