Blowing off some steam!
Arnold Schwarzenegger was spotted on a bike ride around West Hollywood, Calif. on Wednesday, December 1. The 74-year-old sported dark pants and a bright purple jacket as he toured around the city on his two-wheeler. He also rocked a pair of shades to block out the Southern California rays.
The former Governor of California’s leisurely ride comes as he and wife Maria Shriver — who called it quits 10 years ago — are in the midst of hashing out their divorce settlement.
Shriver slapped Schwarzenegger with divorce papers in 2011 after she found out he fathered a love child, Joseph Baena, with the duo’s former housekeeper, Mildred. The former flames are currently embroiled in a legal dispute over their estate — reportedly worth millions — and their massive real estate portfolio.
In May of 2011, the couple announced their split as they contemplated the state of their then-25-year marriage. “At this time, we are living apart, while we work on the future of our relationship,” they said in a statement at the time. “We are continuing to parent our four children together. They are the light and the center of both of our lives.”
Schwarzenegger also lost his “idol” this week — legendary bodybuilder Dave Draper died on Tuesday at age 79. Following the news of his death, the Twins star took to social media to reflect on the man who changed his life.
“Dave Draper was an inspiration to millions of people all over the world, including me. He was one of my idols," Schwarzenegger wrote via Instagram on November 30. "In Austria, I kept his cover of Muscle Builder magazine on the wall above my bed for motivation, and when I saw him starring in Don't Make Waves, I thought, 'My dreams are possible.’”
The Total Recall author continued, “When I got to America and finally met Dave, I learned his heart was as big as his pecs. He even hand-built my first furniture when I moved to Santa Monica, and let me tell you, he was talented. Can you imagine meeting your idol and becoming his training partner and traveling all over the world together? I was in heaven.”
