Kim Kardashian Finally Renames Shapewear Line After Massive Controversy

After her new shapewear line caught massive heat for baring the name "Kimono," Kim Kardashian finally renamed her collection. The reality star changed the name after she was accused of cultural appropriation by fans.

On Monday, August 26, the 38-year-old took to Instagram to announce the news. Alongside a campaign shot of her shapewear line, she wrote a lengthy caption to explain to her decision.

"My fans and followers are a huge inspiration to me – I’m always listening to their feedback and opinions, and am so grateful they shared their ideas for a new brand name," the mother of four said.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star renamed the line "SKIMS." She added, "After much thought and consideration, I’m excited to announce the launch of @SKIMS Solutionwear™ coming September 10."

"I love the idea that the pieces will be the closest thing to someone’s skin, skimming with amazingly soft and supportive fabrics which accentuate the best parts of our bodies," Kim continued.

Kim also added the hashtag, "#ShowYourSKIMS."

The KKW Beauty founder caused controversy when fans slammed her for appropriating Japanese culture with the original name. She insisted that she had "innocent intentions" when creating her line.
